Looking at the mobile art of Alexander Calder, and some of the ideas behind the term Kinetic Art: time, energy, space and abstraction. The construction techniques that Calder used create an opportunity to look at balance, symmetry as well as colour and space. Children will be able to create their own unique ‘mobiles’ in a fun two day ‘hands on’ project that takes on concepts from physics and history as well as art.
