This class is intended to be taken for the full term, but is also available on a drop-in basis for £25 per session (exact money only, please pay at Reception).
Wider themes of space and composition are explored in this class through working directly from the life model in charcoal, pencil, pastels and paint. Colour will be introduced and become central as students are encouraged to develop an expressive and imaginative response to a variety of models holding short and long poses. The class is held in the vast purpose built main studio which enables the use of interesting fabrics and objects to create interesting environments in which to place the model. Where appropriate, the themes introduced will be explored and discussed in the context of the history of art and contemporary art.
