If you have ever thought ‘I have always wanted to try sculpture’, then you will love this non-competitive class which is open to all adult students regardless of experience or ability level. As the class is ongoing and personally directed, you can join at any time in the term.

Individually guided through the process, students learn to work in a variety of materials using different tools and techniques. Beginners create an easy relief, using shapes provided. More advanced students work with chisels and hammers, developing a real understanding of traditional sculpture.

Students develop quickly in this hands-on class, and are encouraged to explore their own ideas and passions.

There are sculpture books and catalogues available to provide inspiration and participants regularly visit galleries and exhibitions in informal group outings. In addition, students are able to exhibit their work at the Conservatoire’s exhibitions.
