This Easter holiday lets have all the fun of the circus as we think about the members of the circus and make pictures and puppets to explore the theme. What role do you dream of playing in the circus? Climb on board the circus train and meet the animals and people.

Butterflies, Birds & Bees

Monday 8th April, 1.30pm - 3.30pm, ages 3-5, £20

The holidays are here and the weather is getting warmer so we can spend some time exploring nature! ‘In the light of the moon, a little egg lay on a leaf’. We are exploring life cycle of butterflies birds and bees through painting, printing and collage. We’ll be thinking what happens inside the egg and on the outside. What other creatures emerge out of an egg?

School's Out So Let's Play!

Tuesday 9th April, 10am - 12pm, ages 3-5, £20

We will look at some of the instruments played at The Conservatoire. Play and draw them and make your own from junk modelling materials to create a carnival atmosphere. Tambourines, shakers and drums-fiesta!

Let's Go Fly A Kite!

Tuesday 9th April, 1.30-3.30pm, ages 3-5, £20

Just like in Mary Poppins, we will make our own kite and send it up into the air to fly in the Spring breeze on Blackheath. All materials supplied to make your own individual kite, using paint, collage, pens and printing techniques.

Treasure Maps

Wednesday 10th April, 9.15am - 3.45pm, ages 5-11, £50

Now school is out, we are ready to grab our map and go exploring! Come and create a tourist or treasure map based on a real or an imaginary place using pencils and watercolours to design and illustrate this, writing in place names and sights of interest. Make a tiny guide book with collaged front covers and illustrations which will include sights of interest. Perhaps your map will lead you to treasure! Create a treasure box or travel trunk using mixed media, old maps and found objects and decorate a bag inspired by and for your journey using simple textile decoration techniques and upcycled items.

Pop Art, Lichtenstein and The Comic

Friday 12th April, 9.30am - 3.30pm, ages 8-14, £50

Are you a comic fan who reaches for your books as soon as the holidays come around? Find out how comics have played a part in fine art and Pop Art! Roy Lichtenstein was inspired by the comic strip to create art work which sold for millions, it created controversy and division at the same time. In this fun course we will learn about the pop art movement and look at how comics inspired this and look at comic books through the lens of Pop art. We will create our own pop art, using the same techniques, influenced by our favourite modern comics! Please feel free to bring along your favourite comic books to inspire your art on the day!

Animation

Animation Nation

Tuesday 16th April, 9.15am - 3.45pm, ages 5-11, £50

During this exciting workshop you will devise an idea and produce a storyboard for a short animation. You will make models, characters and props using modelling clay and produce films of around 40 seconds long complete with titles, credits and music that you can take away with you at the end of the workshop.

Schools Out For Summer

Wednesday 17th April, 9.30am - 3.30pm, ages 8-14, £50

For generations album art has been an essential part of listening to music. The media may have changed from vinyl to digital, but the imagery created to represent our favourite bands’ music has continued to be a vital and vibrant element of pop culture. In this course we will be inspired by the most iconic album art ever, some of which has become more famous and recognisable than the music it symbolises! We will create albums covers of ur own favourite music in a variety of mediums exploring how to translate the music we love into iconic album art! We will play music during the class to inspire us, we’ll be playing a mix, from Alice Cooper to The Beatles, whilst we look at album covers. Please feel free to bring your favourite music on a CD to share!
