Wine Workshops The Conservatoire regularly runs one-off wine workshops throughout the year. For more information on our next workshop please contact reception. Do I need any previous experience? An Introduction to Wine Appreciation 1 Mondays - 7.30-9.30pm : £150 for 5 sessions
starts 11th January

Do you find restaurant wine lists confusing, intimidating and unhelpful? Are you bored with drinking the cheap end of aisle supermarket wine offers that all taste the same with their gimmicky labels? If you are, then this wine course is a must.

Over eight weeks you will learn to understand the language of the wine label, the difference from wines named after grapes alone and those after fancy place names. You will learn how to spot your Pinot Noir from your Shiraz, and learn about the do’s and don’t’s on food and wine matching.

By learning to taste wine, rather than merely drink wine, a whole new world of flavours will be explored through tasting all kinds of wines, from dry to sweet, from wines almost the colour of water to the deepest black, and from fortified to sparkling! You will learn what makes wines taste the way they do and how to recognise faulty wines and most importantly how to buy wines with confidence when eating out or buying on the high street.

Money invested in a wine course will return an enhanced drinking dividend over many
years and bring much pleasure as well.
