Singing and playing with others in a relaxed, friendly environment is an ideal way to explore and develop your love of music. All the adult groups have opportunities to perform throughout the year and also to meet socially after the sessions.

Jazz Singers Tuesdays - 7.00-9.00pm with with Jenny Howe : £158 for 8 sessions :

Level: Some experience

This popular course aims to improve vocal technique, increase awareness of different styles, give experience in performance technique and boost confidence. Each week you will learn a new song from scratch or practise one you already know, as well as exploring different types of improvisation. If you are unsure if you are of the required singing level please contact Reception and find out about a trial session.

Leave any preconceived ideas you have at home and prepare for something different! This course will help you open up the doors to improvisation in a variety of Jazz influenced styles. The mature group is friendly and informal, and although the classes may be challenging they are always supportive, fun and aim to develop your musical knowledge and skill whatever your starting point. Intermediate and advanced students will find this an excellent companion to their progress, and those nostalgic about musical study may find this is the kick-start that turns their dreams into reality. What better way to spend a Saturday lunchtime? Before joining the course please leave your details with Reception so that the tutor can contact you. What to bring: Students should bring their instruments and a notepad/manuscript paper and pen.


Singers Unlimited Wednesdays - 12.45-1.45pm with with Robyn Sevastos : £29 for 10 sessions

This class caters for retired or mature solo singers with sessions conducted in a masterclass type situation. You will develop your basic performance skills, improve your musicianship and learn from the experience of singing in student concerts and at local venues. About the tutors
Jenny Howe

came to London in 1992 from her native home in Cork, Ireland. Since then she has enjoyed a varied career working in Film, TV/Radio, theatre and singing with bands and orchestras. Jenny joined the National Youth Jazz Orchestra in 1994 and toured extensively with them as well as recording several live albums at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club London. Now she uses her experience to coach up-and-coming jazz singers at NYJO, as well as teaching at other schools and colleges. Jazz is Jenny’s first love and she really enjoys her work – the classes are fun and informal and provide a great foundation for those who wish to sing and explore jazz singing.


Aaron Liddard

Studied Popular Music and Recording at Salford University. He has extensive experience of music making, performing in many styles including acoustic and electric jazz, funk, reggae, soul, blues, pop and rock. Aaron has appeared with Amy Winehouse and Beverley Knight and has toured internationally, from New York to Kazakhstan. His educational work includes leading workshops for schools and arts projects and as a college lecturer. www.aaronliddard.com


Robyn Sevastos
BMus ARCM GradDipAccomp

graduated from Melbourne University with first class honours in Performance. Postgraduate study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and a performance diploma from the Royal College of Music followed. She has performed extensively as a soloist and accompanist and has played at Sandringham for HRH The Prince of Wales. Robyn is an experienced conductor with a large choral and operatic repertoire. She is Music Director of a number of institutions including London Opera Productions, Bromley Philharmonic Choir , Sevenoaks Philharmonic Society and the Llantilio Crosseny Festival.


Chris Wilson

was originally a piano scholar at the RCM  where he won numerous prizes as a performer has been a pianist, keyboard player and music production specialist for over 20 years. He has worked with a diverse range of singers, songwriters and instrumentalists, and enjoys working with adults and children alike.  Chris has toured internationally as a keyboard player with UK and US artists and pioneered Jazz piano teaching programmes at the City Lit Institute, Chris has published teaching works and pieces for keyboard players with Faber Music, and is the music director for the Hackney Schools music festival.
