Art for children
Since taking over the Blackheath School of Art in 1991, the Conservatoire has run a range of art classes for children taught by professionally qualified, experienced teachers who are also practising artists. Children start on a journey of discovery in the visual arts exploring colour, shape & texture. They use a wide variety of materials and, with reference to art from different traditions, learn a range of practical skills and acquire the vocabulary necessary to discuss their work and that of other artists.
