| From July to October, our Grade II listed Conservatoire building in Lee Road, Blackheath Village, was subject to a major restoration – the structure’s first renovation since it was constructed in 1896 – and the Conservatoire is now presenting a beautifully restored look to the community. Many friends, students past and present and grant-giving trusts and foundations, together with an important grant from Lewisham Council, enabled us to engage the architects Trinéire Designs and the heritage sector specialists PAYE Stonework & Restoration to carry out the work, and the finished product has been the subject of much admiring comment since the project was officially unveiled by the Mayor of Lewisham, Sir Steve Bullock, at a Reception for all donors early in November.
