Let's Visit Japan (Art, 5-11 yrs)

Japan is famous for cherry blossom, beautiful temples, and stunning scenery. Come on a trip with us all the way to the other side of the world - and you don't even have to leave our studio! On this all-day course we will be creating a two layer (or even three layer!) Pagoda house using cardboard. After we've created our beautiful structure, we'll paint on all the decoration we'd like. What will yours look like?

Backpack

What’s In My Backpack? (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Lets go travelling to distant shores! We could go to the beach, explore a rainforest, or up a mountain. We’ll need to make passports, a compass, a map, some binoculars - and a backpack to put it all in. What do you like to bring with you when you go on a journey? Allons-y! Vamos! Let's go!

Clothes From AOTW

Clothes From All Over the World (Art, 4-6 yrs)

Clothes from different countries are stunning - the beautiful textiles and varied techniques. We’ll look at traditional dress from across the globe, and we'll make our own decorated Asian slippers, a textile design based on traditional motifs from Central America, and a paper piece based on woven African cloth from Ghana.

Roundabout

Roundabout Half Term Taster (Music, 4.5 - 7 yrs)

Tuesday 30th & Wednesday 31st May, 10.00 - 12.30 both days (£65)

Roundabout has been running at the Conservatoire for over 30 years! Since 1992 we have been introducing children aged 5-7 to music through this exciting, informative and inclusive year-long course. Are you thinking of signing up? Perhaps you are already on the waiting list? Well then, this two-day taster is perfect for you! Join us for two mornings in half term to explore all of the many instruments that learners get to explore in their year of Roundabout; strings, flute, piano, brass, percussion and guitar. You'll get time with each instrument, and even try playing in an orchestra. Join us and join the fun!

Ukulele For Beginners (Music, 6-7 yrs)

Come and try out the ukulele and get started on the right note! Join us on this fun-filled introduction to the instrument. Learn to play your first song and have fun making music. Jump Into The Story

Jump Into The Story (Drama, 4-7 yrs)

Jump into the story, jump into the characters’ shoes and look at some of your favourite stories from a different perspective! Using storytelling exercises and imaginative improvisation we will dive head- first into the world of the story. Bring your imagination along, you're going to need it! Please note that this class will take place offsite at the Quaker Meeting House in Blackheath.

Teeny Toes

Teeny Toes (6 months - walking)

Tappy Toes toddler dance classes have many benefits for your child. The Teeny Toes baby classes are for children aged 6 months to when they start walking. It's a great time to introduce babies to the world of music and dance and supports their early development. In Teeny Toes you will use a variety of sensory props to engage them, including; glow balls, bells, scarves, pom-poms, ribbons and feathers. You’ll sing nursery rhymes, boogie along to pop music, their favourite TV theme tunes and listen to a variety of world music. It is a fantastic class to bond with baby and help their coordination with clapping, waving, reaching for props and so much more! Please note that parents must be present for this class.

Animals From The Stars

Animals From The Stars (Art, 5-11 yrs)

Explore one of the most beautiful sites in Peru! We will discover the mysterious Nazca Lines, learning all about how they got there and what they are for, before making our own. We will create our own versions of our favorite animals using clay to create a relief and bas-relief artwork.

Tappy Toes toddler dance classes have many benefits for your child. These children's dance classes will support your child's early years development, improving your child's coordination, motor skills and social skills. Tappy Toes will challenge their imagination, creativity, musicality and rhythm. Toddle Toes is the middle age group, who are just finding their feet! From walkers to 2.5 years. The class follows a set structure, which helps our toddlers to understand the class and even anticipate what comes next! We use fun props, a wide variety of music and we really get them moving. The goal for this class it to build confidence, develop listening and communication skills and, of course, tire them out for you! Please note that parents must be present for this class.

Gaudi

Gaudi And His Marvellous Mosaics (Art, 5-11 yrs)

We will look at the work of Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi and be inspired! We will create abstract collage artworks based on travel to distant and imaginary places... Come along to create beautiful multimedia collaged boxes, design a t shirt, and even create your own sketchbook to record your amazing adventures!

Tots Toes

Tots Toes (2.5 - 5 yrs)

Tappy Toes toddler dance classes have many benefits for your child. These children's dance classes will support your child's early years development, improving your child's coordination, motor skills and social skills. Our Tots Toes class is designed for children aged 2.6 years all the way up to 5 years. It is very much a parent/carer participation class and supports early years development. We do a fun warm-up (teaching the children body awareness and stretching). Songs with actions, travelling steps (walking on tip toes, marching, galloping, twirling), and finish off with our imagination section, keeping your little ones thoroughly enthralled throughout! Please note that parents must be present for this class.

Octonauts

Colours Of The Ocean With The Octonauts (Art, 3 - 5 yrs)

Friday 2nd June, 10.00 - 12.00 (£22)

We will travel underwater with the Octonauts in search of adventure and fun! We will make our own underwater craft, and our favourite octonaut in puppets. Look at all the exotic fish and bright colours of the coral reef! We’ll use inks and bright colours to convey our watery scene.

Trains, Planes & Automobiles (Art, 4-6 yrs)

Boat, train, plane, car or scooter - what’s your favourite form of travel? Let’s explore wheels and ways of getting around... tyre marks and tracks, footprints and all the different patterns we can make. We’ll make a collage and print our own picture of a vehicle for you to take home.
