Introduction to Physical Theatre (15-18 yrs)

Monday 26th July, 10.30am - 3.30pm (£50)

This day long workshop will be a playground for participants to explore ‘physical theatre’ in its broadest sense through structured exercises and improvised movement. We will be working with excerpts from plays and poems to explore their physical possibilities.  This will be a highly physical session so please come ready to move! The course is led by Phoebe Hyder who is a movement director (Associate member of the MDA) and physical theatre performer/dancer, as well as yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance Professionals.

Puppetry 2

Puppetry (7-12 yrs)

Tuesday 27th July, 10.30am - 3.30pm (£50)

In this workshop you’ll learn about different types of puppetry, how to puppeteer your own theatre puppets and by the end of the day you will have created your own mini show. Expect lots of games, fun and moving around as you learn the core skills you need to become a puppeteer!

Storytelling: The Mousehole Cat (4-7 yrs)

Tuesday 10th August, 10.30am - 3.30pm (£50)

Join us on this day long adventure exploring through imagination, games and drama the book ‘The Mousehole Cat’ by Antonia Barber and Nicola Bayley. A fantastic way to develop confidence, communication and storytelling skills through play, drama and movement.

Improv 1

Improvisation & Comedy (8-14 yrs)

Wednesday 11th August, 9.30am - 3.30pm

This workshop will focus on all the different elements of improvisation. This will be a safe place to be silly and creative, working through many different improvisation games and techniques that will help build your confidence in acting as well as public speaking. We will use different stimulus to create and devise pieces in the afternoon session using the techniques discovered through various games in the morning session. Think ‘Whose Line Is It Anyway’ meets ‘Showstopper’!

Musical 2

Musical Theatre (8-14 yrs)

Monday 16th - Friday 20th August (5-day course, £210)

Come and join two West End actors for a 5-day musical theatre workshop learning songs and scenes from top West End & Broadway shows. You will work together with Adam and Connor, who are both currently in Les Misérables, to improve your vocal and singing technique, learn new improvisation and acting techniques and put on your own short compilation musical to perform at the end of the 5 days.

Ever wanted to create your own theatre? These four workshops will give you the tools to devise your own work. Through physical theatre, improvisation and guided independent creative development sessions in small groups from an industry professional, you will be hitting the touring circuit with your latest performance in no time!
