EY Art 3

Pirates! (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Monday 19th July, 10am - 12pm (£20)

Calling All Salty Seadogs! Come and set sail with us on the seas for a pirate adventure. Making everything we’ll need for the journey, we will go in search of treasure, following our map. Come and talk like a pirate- “Ship Ahoy!” and “Shiver Me Timbers!”

EY Art 4

Klee’s Squares and Kandinsky’s Circles (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Monday 19th July, 1.30pm - 3.30pm (£20)

Looking at the work of Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, we will make our own colourful creations in their styles using paint, bleeding tissue, printing and sticking. Get ready for a very colourful class!

Dreaming Of Travels (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Tuesday 20th July, 10am - 12pm (£20)

Use different collage materials - maps, envelopes and a variety of printed pages to make a travel brochure for another land, real or imaginary. Follow in the footsteps of artists whose work has been inspired by travel to make an artist’s book recording what you see on your real or imaginary adventures. We can make a suitcase and pack it ready for our journey. Where shall we go?

Keep The Faith (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Tuesday 20th July, 1.30pm - 3.30pm (£20)

We will be looking at the children’s books of the artist Faith Ringold including ‘Cassie’s Word Quilt’, in which she imagines herself flying above her family. Where would you go in your imagination? Using patchwork and drawings and with reference to Faith Ringold’s work we will create our own piece.

Paradise Found (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Wednesday 21st July, 1.30pm - 3.30pm (£20)

Mary Delany started making exquisite collages of flowers when she was 72! Start a bit earlier and make your own botanical work. Drawing from life looking at plants, and making a collage of a flower using printing, flower petals, and tissue paper. Will you be able to tell it isn’t a real specimen?

We’re going on a journey… Who knows where we’ll end up or how we’ll get there? We’re making a picnic, we’ve got some toys and some books and we’re ready to have some fun! So, pack your bag and come and join us as our journey progresses throughout the week.

Come try out the ukulele and get started on the right note! Join us on this fun-filled introduction to the instrument. Play your first song and have fun making music. Participants will learn the basics, under the guidance of a professional musician. All levels are welcome; bring your own instrument or borrow one of ours.

We will explore some Greek myths and legends and the creatures in them. Make a mask based on your favourite Greek myth or legend, using cardboard and other materials. Create a fantastic beast using collage.

The Little Art-Venture Club

Treasure Hunt (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Wednesday 4th August, 1.30pm - 3.30pm (£20)

Mary Anning is a hero of fossil discovery. We will feel textures of fossils and pebbles and try to create some of the textures in our drawings using chalks, wax, graphite, oil pastels and paint. We’ll make some treasures and fossils, and create our own archaeological hunt to take home.

BYT Kids

Storytelling: The Mousehole Cat (Drama, 4-7 yrs)

Tuesday 10th August, 10.30am - 3.30pm

Join us on this day long adventure exploring through imagination, games and drama the book ‘The Mousehole Cat’ by Antonia Barber and Nicola Bayley. A fantastic way to develop confidence, communication and storytelling skills through play, drama and movement.

Magic Spells and Flying Carpets (Art, 3-5 yrs)

Inspired by the V&A’s ‘Epic Iran’ Exhibition, we will look at repeating patterns and explore pattern making using pens, bright colours and different printing techniques to make a magical flying carpet. We will draw and make our own magic spell pictures! Abracadabra! Hocus pocus! Alakazam!
