Concerts and exhibitions are a vital part of our artistic ecosystem - we hold regular events of work by our students and by professionals:
Student exhibitions and performances
Throughout every term we celebrate our students as artists and musicians in their own right, whether they are 6-months or 96-years-old. Formal and informal sharings, concerts and workshops, together with termly art exhibitions, provide a wonderful way to bring our cultural community together.
Free on Fridays - returning 17th April!
Our tutors are musicians for whom performing is an essential part of their practice and these lunchtime recitals are an opportunity for us to showcase their talent. It also gives them the opportunity to perform in our beautiful art studio, often trying out new repertoire or as warm-up gigs for larger, well-known venues. We relish the chance to welcome an audience to experience the best performers playing the best music at no cost!
Family Concerts
It is important to us that people of all ages can experience excellent, enthralling live music. These performances have cross-generational appeal and engage in an entertaining and thought-provoking way. There truly is something for everyone.
Evening Events
Across the year we hold evening performances and events featuring our tutors and local artists. These events are often unique concepts offering something not found in other London venues.

Duo Brikcius, two cellists, brother and sister Anna Brikciusová and František Brikcius, will be performing music for two cellos by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685 - 1750), Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791), Gioachino Rossini (1792 - 1868), Gabriel Fauré (1845 - 1924) and contemporary Czech composer Irena Kosíková. This year we are commemorating the 341st anniversary of the birth of Johann Sebastian Bach.
All ages are welcome, including babies and children. Entry is free with no need to book and there is an optional retiring collection at the end - all donations go directly to the performers.

Elspeth Wyllie and Catherine Backhouse present a rare chance to enjoy an entire programme of music written by women - Clara Schumann, Pauline Viardot, Amy Beach, Liza Lehmann, Madeleine Dring, Judith Weir, Thea Musgrave, and a premiere live performance of songs by Emily Doolittle.
Critic George Upton wrote in 1880 that women were too emotionally volatile for the exact science of composition and should only serve as mothers and muses of great men. Against such opposition it is remarkable that so many songs of great quality and beauty exist and a shame that many remain on the fringes on standard repertoire.

Tutor Ivan Illingworth will be performing with The Holtág Quartet; a dynamic string quartet with a repertoire spanning classical and contemporary works, from Haydn, Beethoven, and Ravel, to Crumb, Maconchy, and Glass. Shortly after their formation, the quartet was selected to pilot the Ensemble Pathways course at Trinity Laban under a full scholarship provided by Philip Carne MBE – a specialist chamber music diploma.
They have performed at notable venues including Wigmore Hall, Queen’s House (Royal Museums Greenwich), the Painted Hall, and for the Hungarian Consulate in Manchester, and appear regularly across London. Upcoming engagements include performances at the Lighthouse in Poole, the Polish Hearth, and the University Women’s Club. Within their first year, the Holtág Quartet were finalists in the 2025 Cavatina Intercollegiate Competition, recipients of the Sir John Barbirolli Prize for String Quartets at Trinity Laban, and made their debut on BBC Radio 3 In Tune. The quartet has received coaching from Malcolm Johnston of the LSO, the Carducci and Piatti Quartets, and the Linos Piano Trio.
All ages are welcome, including babies and children. Entry is free with no need to book and there is an optional retiring collection at the end - all donations go directly to the performers.
