Flute 2

Fantastic Flutes and How to Play Them (6–9 yrs)

Tuesday 9th April, 13.00 – 15.00, (£24)

In this flute course, you will learn all about the instrument, meeting different flutes from around the world and even get to try out your very own flute skills! Our experienced tutor will guide you through aspects of rhythm and musicality through a variety of games, using the flute head joint to ground you in the basics of the instrument. Within the class you will learn a variety of sounds, three different notes, and write your own short piece of music. This class gives you the opportunity to try out the flute to see if you would like to take your learning with the instrument further and offers a basis from which you would be able to progress to our term time Play! Flute programme. If you have your own instrument, feel free to bring it along but, if not, you can use one of ours for the class.

Beatmaking

Beatmaking & Songwriting (8–12yrs)

Thursday 11th April, 10.00 – 16.00 (£64)

Ever wondered how your favourite songs are written and produced in the studio? In this special Easter edition of this popular course, together we will create a beat from scratch, experimenting with different instruments, iconic song samples and sounds from one computer and a midi keyboard. We will create our own rap/song lyrics as a team and even record your vocals together in our pop-up music studio! Watch your idea grow into a finished song. Bring any instruments you play, and we may incorporate them. Our goal is to complete one finished track and upload it to YouTube, SoundCloud & Instagram to amaze your friends and family. No prior musical knowledge needed, just come and find out how creative you can be!
