Watercolour Evening Masterclass (18+ yrs)

Get started with watercolour! Starting a fresh blank piece of paper can be daunting but in this workshop expert tutor Sophie Knight will show you some of her own methods which will help you to really have fun with the medium, and work more impulsively. Working from photos of landscapes and seascapes, Sophie will guide you with some ways to apply the paint quickly and to be bold in your approach. This short course will suit people with a small amount of experience in watercolour who would like to experiment and develop a sense of freedom with the medium. Sophie Knight is an associate member of The Royal Watercolour Society and her work is in the British Museum, the House of Lords, and several high-profile collections.

Working with Clay: Make A Mug! (18+ yrs)
Thursday 15th February, 16.30 - 20.30 (£51)
Create your own unique mug perfect for your favourite hot beverage. In this class we will learn and try out a variety of decoration techniques, such as mono-printing, sgraffito and stencilling using coloured slips. We will then hand-build a mug using clay slabs, which will be decorated with the decorating techniques we have just learned. Pieces will then be left to dry, glazed and fired ready for you to use. Suitable for beginners to clay. Your work will be fired after the class and be ready to collect in a couple of weeks.
