Monday 27th October, 18.00 - 21.00 (£39)
Ideal for both beginners and more experienced painters, this workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to sharpen their colour mixing skills and gain confidence in using a limited palette to powerful effect. Explore the rich, warm tones of autumn through still life painting in this workshop with artist and tutor Sophie M Cook. Using a limited primary palette, you'll learn to mix an extraordinary range of colours to capture the vibrancy and subtlety of the season. Focusing on pumpkins, seasonal fruits, and foliage, this session will guide you through essential principles of colour mixing and temperature control. With just a few core pigments, you'll discover how to create harmony and balance in your painting, developing a deeper understanding of how colour relationships work. Sophie will lead exercises in observing autumnal light and shadow, helping you bring texture, depth, and atmosphere to your work. You’ll explore how warm and cool tones can be achieved and balanced using only primary colours — making your palette more versatile and expressive.

Sky-Scape Painting: Sunrise & Sunse (18+)
Tuesday 28th October, 18.00 - 21.00 (£39)
Whether you're drawn to the meditative colour-fields of Rothko or the soft, luminous light of Monet’s afternoon skies, this acrylic painting workshop invites you to explore smooth gradation techniques to create your own expressive colour-scape. We'll begin by experimenting with a range of blending methods, then move on to creating your own painting — be it an abstract 'emotional landscape', a Rothko-inspired piece, or a vibrant skyscape capturing the warmth of a sunrise or the calm of a sunset. It could be inspired by a holiday memory or a familiar view from daily life — the choice is yours. The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as more experienced painters looking to refine their blending skills — an essential technique for both abstract and figurative work.

Anatomy of a Monster: Drawing, Print & Collage (18+)
Thursday 30th October, 18.00 - 21.00 (£39)
This one-off evening course will use a mix of drawing, print and collage for the class to create a large scale “Monster” on paper. Suitable for both complete beginners or those with some knowledge of the mediums. Frankenstein’s Monster will be our inspiration, building a body from spare parts and giving it life! Starting with some simple drawing games as a warm-up, each student will then design and create their own body part of our Monster, which we will combine to create unique and exciting results. Ideas could be from the student’s own source material or inspiration, although there will be plenty of ideas provided to draw from. The aim is to have fun and engage with all forms of drawing, print and collage, working together to create an entirely new being on paper. Students can take their own monster body part home!
