The Blackheath Conservatoire of Music and the Arts Ltd (“the Conservatoire”) is an arts charity operating from its historic site in Blackheath, South East London. We offer high quality and innovative individual and group lessons in music and art for all ages and abilities. Our values include excellence, creativity, sustainability, and inclusivity. We aim to provide a vibrant and welcoming space to inspire and nurture our diverse community of life-long learners. Our charitable activities include providing bursaries to children in the community who need them, and free classes for refugees and asylum seekers, along with a range of other charitable arts programmes. We attract approximately 2,000 student interactions a week, with classes and tuition delivered by our network of 130 freelance tutors, and we are open 7 days a week.

We are at an exciting point on our journey, embarking on a redevelopment of our artistic programme, and reaping the benefits of a new IT system. As we chart our future, including deepening our committment to access, we are seeking to bolster our board with dynamic and connected individuals, committed to our mission in South East London.
