Matt Oldreive

Matt Oldreive holds a Master’s degree in Music for the Moving Image and is a classically trained pianist with a strong foundation in both performance and composition. Alongside classical repertoire, he has a wide interest in contemporary styles including film music, pop, and musical theatre.

As a composer, Matt has written original music for film and digital media, and he enjoys bringing that creative experience into his teaching when students are keen to explore composing or improvising.

Matt brings a warm, student-centred approach to lessons, encouraging creativity and confidence while building solid technical and musical skills. He tailors his teaching to suit each learner’s goals - whether they’re preparing for exams, learning for fun, or exploring music more deeply.

His lessons are designed to be engaging, well-structured, and enjoyable, helping students develop fluency, independence, and a lifelong connection to music.
